Scope
- These are the general terms and conditions of Cœur studio (Makua Group Oy, 3231921-9, hereinafter "studio"), to which all studio customers must agree before entering into a contract (booking an hour or purchasing services) and to which they must adhere during their contract. These terms and conditions cover both the terms and conditions of membership and the terms and conditions of use of the studio. These terms and conditions are valid from 22.8.2024.
- The studio's register and privacy policy can be found in the studio's from the website.
Customer engagement and services
- The client can practice in the studio with or without membership. Both will be referred to collectively as "membership".
- The relationship is personal and the customer must be at least 18 years old. Anyone under 18 years of age can only be a client with the consent of a guardian.
- The customer must be able to prove his/her identity on request before signing the contract.
- The studio's main service is guided and independent Pilates training. The services consist of guided individual practice, guided pair practice, guided group practice and independent individual practice. Independent sessions may also be referred to as private practice/exercise.
- The services consist of a starter package, multi-training cards (1-time, 5-time and 10-time cards, henceforth all these different cards are called "card") and monthly memberships (Bronze, Silver and Gold), which include access to group classes in the studio or individual independent training sessions (the content of the cards and memberships varies according to the type of card and membership). Prices and service descriptions can be found on the studio's website, the studio reserves the right to make changes to the services and prices.
Memberships and season tickets
- We encourage every new client to purchase a starter kit as a first step, so that we can ensure that each client is instructed on the functions of the equipment, the correct use of the equipment and the basics of Pilates. The contents of the starter kit are described in more detail on the studio's website.
- The studio offers a range of memberships and cards that allow the client to practise to a certain extent, depending on the membership or card. The content of the memberships and cards is described in more detail on the studio's website.
- Memberships and card durations vary. The individual duration is defined in the booking system.
- If the number of training sessions included in the membership or card is defined, it is defined in equal periods: 1 month = 4 weeks.
- The monthly membership fee is billed monthly (although the season and the number of training sessions is calculated in 4-week periods) or the customer can pay it all at once. Cards are paid in one lump sum in advance of booking. The membership or card can be paid in full or in part with sports benefits (for more information, please contact customer service).
- You can also pay for your membership or card by direct debit from a debit or credit card through the booking system.
- If a membership or card specifies a certain number of weekly training sessions, these are not tied to weeks. If you miss a training session one week, you can train more often during the membership or card period in another week. However, the sessions cannot be used again after the end of the membership or card period.
- The membership or card is valid for a period of time, which is specified separately. After this period, the membership or card will not be automatically renewed.
- Membership or the card can be terminated in the middle of a membership period if the customer is injured, becomes seriously ill, stays abroad for more than 2 months, performs military service or moves to another location more than 30 kilometres away. For health reasons, a statement from a health authority or health professional stating that you cannot exercise during the membership period is always required. For military service, a certificate of commencement of military service is required and for moving to another location, a certificate of removal is required.
- In the cases mentioned above, it is also possible to transfer the membership or season ticket to another person.
- The customer can also suspend their membership (6-month fixed-term contracts) for 14 days once in a six-month period for no particular reason.
- Asiakas voi jäädyttää jäsenyytensä kerrallaan yhden tai kahden kuukauden ajaksi. Jäädytys koskee aina koko kuukautta. Jäädytysmaksu on 20€ jäädytyskuukautta kohti, ja se lisätään ensimmäiseen mahdolliseen laskuun. Jäädytysmaksu korvaa jäsenmaksusi jäädytysjakson aikana.
Studio internships - general
- The client is not allowed to share the studio door codes with outsiders or bring any outsiders with them. The client must always take special care when passing through the studio doors.
- The access code is personal. The access code must always be carried with you when you enter the gym and must not be used to enter the gym by anyone else.
- If the access code is used by another person or otherwise misused, a written warning will be issued and the customer will be charged a penalty of €100 per visit, which may also lead to the cancellation of the contract.
- The customer is aware that there are surveillance cameras in the studio.
- The customer must inform the studio of any changes to their contact details.
- The customer must notify us immediately if he/she notices any defect or damage to the equipment.
- You may not take any of the studio's property away from the studio.
- You agree to comply with all safety guidelines of the studio and any advice, instructions or orders given by the staff. If the client violates these conditions or any other instructions given by the studio or the instructors, the studio reserves the right to cancel the training sessions already purchased and/or to deny the client the right to train at the studio.
- Neither the studio nor the directors working there are liable for any damage caused at the studio, unless caused by gross negligence or gross recklessness.
- The studio is not liable for any damage or injury caused to customers.
- The Studio is entitled to claim compensation for any damage caused.
- The client must arrive on time for the training session.A 5-minute delay or no-show will result in the loss of the booked training session and will not be refunded.
- The studio does not guarantee the possibility of an internship and is not responsible for cancellation of a booked internship if the obstacle is due to circumstances beyond the studio's control.
- If the studio has broken equipment and is aware of it, the client will be informed as soon as possible and will have the right to postpone the training session. Every effort will be made to repair the equipment as soon as possible.
Booking system, booking and cancellation of lessons
- You can book the studio's services through the appointment system on the website. Independent training sessions can only be booked through the booking system. Other services can also be booked through the studio staff.
- The customer must create an account in the booking system in order for the studio to be able to offer its services to the customer.
- If the customer wants to make a booking that is paid for with sports benefits, this is normally done via our website/payment service when purchasing a membership or card.
- Private, couples and corporate lessons can be booked through customer service, either by calling, emailing or messaging via whatsapp. Payments can be made via the payment link, by invoice or directly at the studio.
- You can make a reservation for an independent or group lesson at least 60 minutes before the start of the lesson. Individual counselling must be booked 24 hours in advance.

- Missing a private, couple or company lesson due to an obstacle: The client has the possibility to reschedule the lesson or to replace it with a group lesson of their choice in the studio. The number of group exercise classes of your choice will be increased according to what best matches the value of the private or couples class. Missing a corporate lesson will be replaced by a new time. However, the client must inform the studio staff of the obstacle as early as possible (12 hours in advance). It is the client's responsibility to ensure that he/she has a user account created in the system and that it is thus possible to add compensatory hours to the account. It is also the client's responsibility to check that his/her compensation hours are up to date and if there are any missing hours, the client should contact the studio staff. Once an hour has been added to the client's account, it is valid for 4 weeks.
Cancellation of lessons by the studio
- If the class is empty, the studio has the right to cancel the class on the same day.
- The studio also has the right to cancel a lesson if the instructor is unable to hold the lesson or if the studio's facilities or equipment are not available for reasons beyond the studio's control. The studio will not refund the client's fee, but the client has the right to postpone his/her participation to a later date.
- It is possible for the studio to temporarily transfer guided sessions to another instructor without prior notice to the client.
General information on payment
- The studio has several different payment methods, more information about which can be found on the studio's website.
- The studio accepts third-party payers, but the personal responsibility for payments always rests with the person with whom the contract is concluded.
- The Studio reserves the right to change prices unilaterally.
- The studio accepts payments via the apps of companies offering sports benefits (listed on the studio's website) and in the form of sports vouchers, but does not refund any money for these.
- If a customer buys a one-off session and is unable to attend a class but declares it in accordance with the class cancellation deadlines, they will receive a 'credit' from the account to attend the class at a later date. Also, paid cards or memberships will not be credited, see the section on the validity of prepaid cards for more information.
Payment via the booking system
- The customer has the possibility to purchase single and multi-trip cards through the booking system at the time of booking or as a separate function. Membership can also be purchased through the booking system.
- The online payment services for the booking system are provided by Stripe and Paypal. The Studio is not responsible for any malfunction of these online payment services.
Billing
- By paying for a card or membership, the customer agrees to comply with the general terms and conditions of the studio in their entirety.
- Cards with more than one session will not be billed as a priority. However, in exceptional circumstances, if this is the case, independent and group lessons will be invoiced immediately and must be paid for when the lessons are loaded into the booking system, i.e. when booking is possible.
- If the customer does not pay the invoice on the due date, the studio will first send a reminder, after which the invoice can be transferred to collection.
- If a payment reminder is due, the studio has the right to withdraw any unused training sessions already purchased by the client.
Validity of prepaid cards
- Independent practice: a five (5) time card is valid for 8 weeks and a ten (10) time card is valid for 16 weeks.
- Group lessons: a five (5) session card is valid for 8 weeks and a ten (10) session card is valid for 16 weeks.
- Membership is always valid for a specified period.
- The starter package is valid for four (4) weeks. This package cannot be extended.
- Paid packages are not refundable, but may be extended if the customer is injured, becomes seriously ill, is pregnant, stays abroad for more than 2 months, performs military service or moves to another place.
- In the cases mentioned above, it is also possible to transfer the training sessions to another person.
- The validity of the cards (group lessons, independent lessons and private and couples lessons) can be extended for 1 month at an additional cost of €20 per card.
Health
- It is the client's responsibility to ensure that their health condition allows them to practice on the studio premises without risk.
- The client participates in Pilates exercises in the studio of his/her own free will and at his/her own risk, knowing the risks of injury involved.
- By becoming a client, the client declares that they have no physical or mental disabilities (e.g. neck, back or lower back injuries), limitations (e.g. pregnancy) or illnesses (e.g. heart disease or eye pressure) that they have not disclosed to the instructor prior to participating in the exercise. The client acknowledges that these disabilities or limitations may pose a risk to the client while practicing in the studio. If the client has any of the above mentioned disabilities or limitations, the client participates in the session at his/her own risk.
- The client should always talk to the staff before coming to the studio and, if necessary, consult a doctor or physiotherapist before starting the training.
General rules of order
- Do not wear jewellery, shoes or clothing that could damage the equipment in the studio.
- The client must observe the training times when training independently and ensure that the next client is able to start his/her training on time.
- Noise in the changing rooms and lobby should be avoided when the next client's training session has started. Please note that the next client's training session may be disturbed by loud noise.
- The studio is not responsible for the client's property. Lockers with locks are available in the studio.
- You may not market, sell or produce your own products/services in the studio without the studio's express permission.
- Only studio employees are allowed to direct in the studio.
- Photography in the studio is allowed.
- Animals are not allowed in the studio.
- Good and proper behaviour must be observed in the studio.
- Smoking and alcoholic beverages as well as all types of intoxicants and doping substances are prohibited in the studio.
- Studio equipment should always be wiped down with studio supplies after use.
- When practising in the studio, you should wear appropriate sportswear and observe personal hygiene.
- Only anti-slip socks are used in the studio, to minimise potential accidents. Training without anti-slip socks is prohibited, as we want to maintain a pleasant hygienic experience for our customers. If you have forgotten your anti-skid socks at home, you can purchase anti-skid socks from the sales machine in the studio. Shoes are not permitted.
- The client must always follow the instructions in the studio and on the equipment to ensure safety.
- All used equipment must always be returned to its place after the end of the training session.
- If the client violates the above rules of order, the studio has the right to take away the already purchased training sessions from the client and/or to deny access to the studio in the future.
Studio internships - independent internships
- Independent practice is only permitted for clients who have completed the equipment briefing provided by studio staff as part of the starter kit and who have a background in equipment licensing. Each new client is encouraged to purchase an introductory package that provides a comprehensive equipment instruction. No matter how experienced a customer is, everyone is encouraged to go through the starter kit before being able to purchase other training cards and memberships. This ensures that every customer has an understanding of our Equipment Pilates concept.
- The studio is entitled to refuse an independent training opportunity if it considers that the client's level of experience is not yet sufficient for independent training.
- The studio provides studio space, equipment and training videos (monitor, tablet, headphones and internet access) for independent training.
- Studio staff may be present in the room during independent rehearsals.
- The studio does not guarantee that there will always be a convenient time for the client.
- In the event that external persons are allowed to train on the studio's premises, the studio has the right to cancel the training sessions purchased by the client and to refuse the client any further training.
- For safety reasons, it is not allowed to bring a child into the studio during rehearsals.
STUDENTS
Students can take advantage of the reduced price at any time when they join (discount for independent training only). The student discount can be obtained by identifying a valid student card when joining (via customer service) and then whenever you want to use the discount. The monthly membership fee will be increased to the normal price when the conditions for the student discount are no longer met. Proof of eligibility for the discount must be provided every six months.
